Our Story
Madera Builders began the way many of the best businesses do: on an unexpected path that quickly became a passion.
Ivan and Dakota first found their entrance into construction while managing an apartment complex in Marin County. What started as everyday handyman projects evolved into more complex projects and full remodels. As they built relationships with skilled tradespeople, opportunities started coming from outside the apartment complex. One project led to another, and shortly after, their focus shifted fully into residential construction.
Over time, Madera Builders evolved from small jobs to larger renovations and custom, specialty projects.
Madera Builders began the way many of the best businesses do: on an unexpected path that quickly became a passion.
Ivan and Dakota first found their entrance into construction while managing an apartment complex in Marin County. In 2025, after years spent honing their craft, Madera opened its own carpentry shop. It was a natural next step and gave the team the ability to bring custom details like cabinetry, built-ins, and millwork to life . By handling both fabrication and installation in-house, every piece fits the way it’s meant to, and every finish feels considered.
Madera Builders has intentionally stayed small. Clients work directly with Ivan and Dakota, and every project is supported by a trusted group of trade partners they’ve built relationships with over the years. They believe the experience matters just as much as the end result and each project is informed by clear communication, mutual trust, and taking the time to do things right.
The result? A building experience that feels personal, and a home that’s built to last.
